The Da Vinci Code...

Hope you are doing well and are able to catch up on your sleep. What did you think of the Da Vinci Code?

Yeahh, relatively well. I caught up on my sleep long time ago:)) Usually get short on it during the weekends, but have time to recover on the weekdays..
The Da Vinci Code is entertaining, but it is not a good literature, definitely not:))

I *completely* agree.

The Da Vinci Code drove me nuts. All that hype! I thought it was structured like an inverted pyramid; all that information balanced on a pinpoint of activity that took place over 24 hours. It was too top heavy and it felt like a book that had been written to show off what the author knew or was able to research about obscure subjects in art and science. The characters didn't actually do very much, when you look at the plot itself, and weren't all that well written. All escapist pomp and no circumstance. That said, I can understand why it's an immensely popular book, precisely because of its lack of depth, and it seems adventurous without actually being so. I think the average reader would enjoy being highly intelligent and sophisticated within the confines of the book.

Could I possibly be more snobby? : )

No, you could not!
I think it is popular just like you said "the average reader would enjoy being highly intelligent and sophisticated within the confines of the book". I wish I could tell something like this precise and to the point:))

The only analogy for the book I have is Sydney Sheldon novels:)) I read him when I just started studying English because his language was sufficient and challenging enough for me at that time..
